Tushawan Richardson will lead the Clinton Red Devils THIS FRIDAY at home against the Chester Cyclones in round two of the 2A State Playoffs. Earlier:
The Laurens County Touchdown Club is proud to announce that for games played on October 11th, the Player of the week is senior quarterback Tushawan Richardson of Clinton High School.
Richardson is a senior signal caller for the Clinton High School Red Devils as they defeated the Chesnee Eagles by a score of 46 - 21 to open Region I, AA play.
Tushawan Richardson is a Clinton High School senior who completed 9 passes on the night on 14 attempts for 178 yards. Richardson threw three touchdowns to three different receivers with a long TD pass of 47 yards. Additionally, Richardson ran the ball for 25 yards on three attempts.
Head Coach Corey Fountain stated, “Tushawan did a great job operating the offense after a long break. He was able to create plays with his legs and improvise when needed. Tushawan is not only a great football player, but also a great young man.”
The Laurens County Touchdown Club honored Richardson on October 17th at the bi-monthly Touchdown Club meeting.
The October 17th meeting featured highly popular Coach Mike Ayers, former head football coach at Wofford College and South Carolina Football Hall of Fame member, as our featured speaker. The Farm Bureau Insurance “Player of the Week’ awards were presented for the September 20, September 25 and October 11 High School football games as well. The Laurens County Touchdown Club meets every other Thursday throughout the football season at The Ridge located in Laurens at 301 Exchange Road and the public is invited. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15. All meetings are at Noon with the food service line opening at 11:45 am.
