Senior Sofia Carles of the Presbyterian College women's golf team, and a graduate of the Clinton High golf program, has been named this week's Adidas / Game One Student-Athlete of the Week after earning the best finish of her collegiate career at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate.
The Blue Hose placed seventh at the event, finishing with a three-round team total of 956 (+92), including a final-round score of 322 (+34).
Carles led the charge for Presbyterian, tying for eighth overall with a three-round score of 230 (+14)—the highest individual finish of her career. She opened the tournament with a 76 (+4) in the first round, carding eight pars and three birdies.
Despite rainy conditions during the second round, Carles managed to secure 11 pars and recorded an 80 (+8).
She closed strong with a 74 (+2) in the final round, highlighted by 12 pars and two birdies, securing her tie for eighth and cementing a standout performance with her 230 (+14) total.
Game One
In November 2022, the Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One on a multi-year apparel agreement as an official team dealer for Adidas. The partnership extended the university's alliance with Adidas, which began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.
Game One is among the country's largest and fastest-growing sports equipment and apparel suppliers, serving a loyal customer base of 13,000 schools and organizations in 38 states.
