Everyone is invited to visit our office - The Clinton Chronicle at 513 North Broad Street - this Tuesday evening for a Chamber Business Connections event.
The Chamber will be bringing its new Members’ Guide magazine, and many other Chronicle magazines and publications will be available for you to take, free, for your reading pleasure.
In addition, you will be able to meet and talk with our award-winning Advertising Staff - this information is, as we say, Hot Off the Press.
In the SC Press Association 2025 Palmy Ad Awards, The Chronicle is a double winner.
In the Gifts, Open Division category, our publisher Christopher Patterson is a First Place winner for his ad for the business, Life in Color. The judge says it has a “great use of color and white space. Really eye-catching.”
In the Rich Media Ad, Division K category, our reporter and designer Victoria Steele is a First Place winner for her invitation to the advertiser appreciation dinner (2-27-2024), with the judge commenting, “good use of animated graphics to create this Instagram story ad promoting your advertiser appreciation dinner.”
Businesspeople, while you’re here, you can set up a time to talk in-depth with Chris, and our sales manager Christen Tollison, about ways to make your business advertising stand out from the rest.
This July 29 Chamber Business Connection After Hours program - a drop-in from 5 to 7 p.m. - is an extension of community outreach programs that Patterson has initiated in recent months, to include Hometown Heroes, Advertiser Appreciation, and Trunk or Treat.
Our next major program is a Back to School coloring book that will be inserted in the July 30 Chronicle - school starts back for Districts 56 & 55 and Thornwell Charter on August 5.
We will have some of our more recent SC Press News Contest awards also on display in our conference room. Our editor Vic MacDonald was the recipient of 4 such awards in the small weeklies category for 2024 - he has been an individual and team-member recipient of 45 state awards since he joined The Chronicle staff in 2012.
Part of this July 29 event will be a commemoration of MacDonald’s 50 years as a community journalist, since his graduation from Newberry College in 1975. Career & Family Mementoes will be on display in what formerly was our pressroom.
