It was coolish - just 7 degrees above the freezing mark. It was dark, at least at the beginning in the shady spots. It was damp-ish - that kind of damp that seeps in as you're sitting there, waiting for that first Police siren.
But, IT WAS FUN. The Dec. 6, 10 am, Clinton Christmas Parade was a fine kick-off to the holidays season. The City had sponsored a Tree-lighting and a Mingle Jingle just days before, and there was more coming around Laurens County - the Laurens Parade Saturday evening, the Joanna Parade Sunday afternoon, and the Presbyterian College visual arts performance Sunday afternoon (Gray Court had its tree-lighting in late November). And, still coming up is Christmas at the Cabin, Dec. 14, 2 - 4 pm at the Joe Adair Center, 110 Scout Creek Drive in Laurens, and a special one night only, Candlelight Tour of Christmas Trees Dec. 22 at the Laurens County Museum. AND, just a word to the wise, by Monday, Dec. 15, the HIGH in Clinton is expected to be 37 degrees (low 24 "up" from 21 the night before).
Back to the Clinton Parade, we've announced these previously in this space, but it bears repeating, these are the people you saw participating in the Clinton Christmas Parade (and there were some car-riders who might not be listed), luckily, the 10 am train was just a few minutes earlier and passed through just before the parade-start:
