Two shooting incidents from late Thursday/early Friday are being investigated by Clinton Public Safety.
About 10 pm, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North Broad Street. Officers found a large group gathered and people were screaming, a report said. A man was found shot in the leg.
The victim was taken to Self Regional Medical Center for treatment, and the crime scene was secured. Evidence collected included spent shell casings, a rock substance suspected of being crack cocaine, two spent bullets and a piece of bullet fragment.
One report said multiple people had been shot, but no injuries appeared to be life-threatening. Another report said a person escaped the scene by jumping over a fence.
About 4 am Friday, officers responded to Clinton Manor and found a man with a gunshot wound to his waist. The victim was taken to GHS Laurens County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
No other details were immediately available.
