Store owner shot, treated for injuries

TIPS FROM THE PUBLIC REQUESTED AS SLED ASSISTS DENMARK POLICE WITH SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) was requested by Denmark Police Chief Leroy Grimes on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, to assist in the Denmark Police Department’s investigation of a shooting that evening after 8 p.m. at the Denmark Grocery on 59 Magnolia Avenue. The store owner was shot, taken to the hospital, and treated for injuries. No other injuries were reported. Nothing from the store was stolen. Photos attached are from the incident.
