  • Softball… The Red Devil softball teams hosted the Emerald Vikings in their last region games of the season.
    • Varsity: Clinton 10 – Emerald 0… The varsity softball game had a lot on the line for the Red Devils where playoff seeding is concerned… If they lost, they finished 4th in the region and if they won they finished in a tie for 3rd place with Chester and it would force a playoff game with the Cyclones sometime this week… well good news for Red Devil fans as there will be a playoff game to break that tie because the Red Devils took a 10-0 over the Vikings… Meme Smith was winning pitcher with 8 strikeouts… Sophia Sullivan was 3-3 at the plate, Meme Smith was 2-3 and Mac Taylor was also 2-3… The location and date for the playoff game with Chester had not been set at the time of this report but I will let you know as soon as I know…. The team continued to improve through the season and finished 8-10 overall and 3-5 in region play.
    • JV: Clinton 18 – Emerald 0… In action prior to the varsity game, the JV team defeated Emerald by a score of 18-0… All I can tell you about that game is that Kennedy Luke was the winning pitcher and that Taylor Davis had 3 hits in the game with one of them being a homerun… The JV team finished its season with a 13-4 record after starting out 1-3 at the beginning of the season…Way to Go Big Red!     17-3 / 6-0
  •  Baseball: Clinton 17 – Emerald 2… The Red Devil varsity baseball team also hosted the Emerald Vikings last Friday night in their last region game of the season… Good news here also for Red Devil fans as the Red Devils took a 17-2 win in a game that only went 4 innings due to the 15-run lead rule… The Red Devils scored 4 runs in the 1st and 2nd innings, 6 in the 3rd and 3 in the 4th to end the game… They simply outhit the Vikings 16-2 with Zach Fortman going 3 for 3 with a double, Wilson Wages went 3 for 3 and also had a double and 3 RBIs, Justin Copeland went 3 for 4 with a triple and had 5 RBIs while Brett Young also went 3-3 with 2 RBIs… Coach McCarthy again did not send me the box score or scorecard to share with you… If you see him, please ask him to do so… The team is now an outstanding 17-3 on the season and 6-0 in region play… The team is scheduled to travel to Seneca today for a 6:30 pm game with the Bobcats.
