The Clinton Police Department has issued this statement:
Clinton, SC – On Saturday, May 31, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Clinton Police Department officers responded to a shooting incident that occurred near the intersection of E. Carolina Avenue and Owens Street. The incident stemmed from a large graduation party taking place at 306 E. Carolina Avenue, which had more than 200 people in attendance.
Clinton officers were already on scene at the party handling a separate incident when they observed a large crowd fleeing the area. Officers moved to the front of the building and heard multiple gunshots in the vicinity of E. Carolina Avenue and Owens Street.
Upon responding, officers located a 17-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound on Owens Street. A vehicle in the area was also discovered with multiple bullet impacts. The victim was initially transported to Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital and later transferred to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.
