Red Devils & Clinton YMCA partner for free skills camp at Clinton High

TODAY (June 15) at YMCA/CHS Red Devils Football Days, players work on skills as the 2-day camp wraps up.

Red Devil coaches and players put the future Red Devils through drills at different stations for 2 hours each of 2 days, June 14 & 15, on the renovated CHS Football Practice Field / Track & Field Facility on the Clinton High School campus. Lunch was provided in the CHS Cafe (11-11:30 am), as part of District 56’s summer feeding program. This free camp was for ages 5-12.

The Clinton YMCA will sponsor Future Lady Devils Basketball Camp June 30; Tennis Camp at the Clinton Middle School / Red Courts July 10 - 12; and Soccer Camp at the Presbyterian College Intramural Field July 17-19. Already this summer the Y has sponsored Softball and Baseball Camps, and Basketball Camp, in addition to its work-out facilities, tennis and pickelball courts, swimming pool, and summer childcare and a fueling station for those who need food during the summer and continuing year-round, in cooperation with the City of Clinton. Also, the Clinton Little Devils tackle football and cheerleading program has been participating in 7 on 7 drills and is gearing up for its fall competition season — Jamboree on Aug. 19.

The Clinton Red Devil Varsity Football Team (13-1 in 2022) has been participating in 7 on 7 competitions, following its May 25 spring game and in preparation for the Aug. 18 non-region, season-opener at Batesburg-Leesville (CHS = SCHSL 3A Region IV). Clinton High Athletics also offers Junior Varsity and Middle School competition.

The Clinton-Laurens County Varsity Football Championship Game is scheduled for Aug. 25, at Laurens District High School.
