Presbyterian College baseball coach Elton Pollock has signed a 10-year contract extension, announced by Director of Athletics Dee Nichols on Wednesday. Pollock, a 1995 Presbyterian College graduate, just completed his 20th year at the helm of the Blue Hose baseball program.
"Nothing makes me prouder than to know I will have the privilege of leading and representing my alma mater on the field in uniform for the next ten years," Pollock said. "It is truly an honor, and I'd like to thank our President Dr. Anita Gustafson, and Director of Athletics Dee Nichols for believing in me as we continue to move the program forward."
In 2024, the team achieved historic success, capturing the Big South regular season title for the first time in school history. This remarkable season came with numerous accolades and record-breaking performances. Coach Pollock was honored as Big South Coach of the Year, while Joel Dragoo and Daniel Eagen were named Big South Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.
Under Pollock's leadership, this season's team boasted six Big South All-Conference players, including three first-team and three second-team selections. Eagen and Dragoo were named ABCA First Team All-Region and later earned All-American honors.
Over his career at Presbyterian, Pollock has coached players who have collectively earned 35 All-Big South selections.
Pollock collected his 400th career win this past season and aims to build on this impressive milestone in the coming years. In 2021, Coach Pollock guided the Blue Hose to the Big South Tournament title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament
