4 buildings and 3 businesses in Uptown Clinton are wrecked by an August 27 early evening blaze. 

The Clinton-Newberry Natural Gas Authority posted, "Prayers for the owners, workers, and first responders. This is a tragic event but we are so grateful that no one was injured. To see the way everyone from all walks of life came together in this crisis makes me proud to be from this community."

The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce posted, "Our hearts & prayers go out to the City of Clinton and the many businesses, first responders annd emergency personnel, workers, volunteers, and locals impacted today."

Gray Funeral Homes & Crematory posted, "Sending heartfelt prayers for healing strength, and support to our beloved city of Clinton. Let's remember and pray for the resilient local business owners and their employees, courageous firefighters, and all first resaponders from Clinton and surrounding departments. In our tight- knit community, may we find strength, peace and togetherness as we united to rebuild and uplift one another during this difficult time."

L&L Office Supply (across Musgrove Street from the fire scene) posted, "Our friends and fellow business owners are experiencing inbelievable loss tonight. Please keep the people of Clinton in your prayers."
