Congresswoman Sheri Biggs Votes to Advance Budget Resolution, Laying the Foundation for Spending Cuts and Tax Relief
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Sheri Biggs (R – SC03) today voted in favor of the 2025 budget reconciliation framework to set the stage for historic tax cuts, increased government efficiency, and critical border security enhancements.
Congresswoman Biggs issued the following statement on passage of the budget resolution:
“This budget reconciliation is the trigger to put President Trump’s mandate into action. It moves us toward historic tax relief, greater government efficiency, and a safer border. My vote helps force Washington to operate with fiscal sanity and to balance a budget, just like hardworking families in South Carolina’s Third District do,” said Congresswoman Biggs.
The budget contains $2 trillion in spending cuts aimed at restoring fiscal discipline. Despite lies by the status quo liberals, there is ZERO mention of cuts to Medicaid or SNAP Benefits in the budget resolution. This framework also delivers critical priorities, including:
Congresswoman Biggs remains committed to ensuring that President Trump has the tools and resources to implement the America First agenda and will continue working to secure a stronger, more prosperous future for all Americans.

THE OTHER SIDE:
House Republicans Pass Trump’s Funding Bill to Rip Away Health Care, Food for South Carolinians to Give Handout to the Rich
In response to House Republicans passing their disastrous budget reconciliation bill that puts South Carolina families last, South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spainreleased the following statement:
“Last night, South Carolina’s Nancy Mace, Joe Wilson, Sheri Biggs, William Timmons, Ralph Norman and Russell Fry, along with House Republicans showed their true colors - leaving South Carolina working families in the dust while they cater to their ultra-wealthy backers. House Republicans voted to move forward with their disastrous, Trump-endorsed reconciliation bill that will rip away health care from South Carolinians and make lives harder for the constituents they were elected to protect. Now, Trump is emptying the pockets of South Carolinians who need it to give out massive tax handouts to his billionaire backers like Elon Musk. If just three House Republicans had grown a spine last night, they could have put a stop to this corruption.”
