Laurens - Laurens County School District 55 (LCSD 55) announces Magon R. Wilson as the 2026-2027 EB Morse (EBM) Elementary School Principal. Wilson moves from her current role as EBM Assistant Principal, a position she took in July 2023. Among Wilson’s impacts as an assistant principal are reducing office referrals by 10% through proactive behavior systems and relationship-centered practices and increasing positive office referrals by 137.14% through the implementation of recognition systems and behavior supports.

Wilson is a lifelong learner and has a natural thirst for knowledge. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Elementary Education from Anderson University in May 2008. She earned a Master of Education degree in Administration & Supervision from Anderson University in May 2015, a Gifted & Talented Endorsement from Converse College in December 2018, and a Master of Education in Teaching & Learning from Lander University in December 2024. Her other endorsements include Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher (2020), English for Speakers of Other Languages (2024), and LETRS- Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (2026).

With eighteen years of experience in education, Mrs. Wilson has a strong understanding of teaching and administrative functions, including what students and teachers need to thrive. Her previous role demanded leadership skills and expertise in relationship-building. She has been part of the EBM Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), which works collaboratively with teachers to improve instruction and student outcomes. Among her responsibilities are co-planning, modeling instructional strategies, supporting behavior management systems, analyzing student data, serving as school testing coordinator, and helping teachers establish effective classroom procedures.

Wilson pulls from her own wealth of teaching experience when coaching, modeling, and supporting behavior management strategies. She served as a 5th-grade teacher at Hickory Tavern School from 2020-2023, and at Varennes Academy of Communications & Technology from 2015-2020. She taught various grades at Laurens Elementary School from 2008 to 2012.

Wilson stated, “I’m passionate about creating a culture where students feel safe and valued, teachers feel supported and empowered, and families feel welcomed as partners in education. I strive to lead with integrity, collaboration, and a clear vision for student success while maintaining high standards for both academic achievement and school climate.”

Laurens County School District 55 is excited to have Wilson serve as principal. She will officially start serving as principal on July 1, 2026.
