Clinton residents came together at Lydia Mill Park on August 28 for National Night Out, an annual nationwide event hosted locally by the Clinton Police Department to strengthen relationships between the community and first responders.
From 6 to 8 p.m., families enjoyed free hot dogs grilled by police officers, along with chips and drinks, while music set the tone for an evening of fun and connection. Children and adults danced, played, and mingled with their neighbors in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
Throughout the event, officers, firefighters, and EMS crews greeted residents and answered questions, helping build connections beyond emergency calls. Families also had the chance to get an up-close look at emergency vehicles and equipment, exploring police cars and fire trucks with their lights flashing.
Adding to the excitement, a raffle featured gift cards and prizes for children, making the night even more memorable for the youngest attendees. At the end of the evening, leftover food was donated to the Open Door Christian Center, ensuring it didn’t go to waste.
This year’s National Night Out in Clinton highlighted the vital role of community partnerships in public safety, reinforcing bonds between residents and first responders while laying the foundation for an even safer and more connected city.
