LAURENS COUNTY - Representative Luke Rankin, a rising conservative voice in the South Carolina House of Representatives, endorsed Lt. Governor Pamela Evette for Governor on Tuesday. Rankin, who is in his first term representing SC House District 14 (Laurens County), previously served as a member of the Laurens County Council and the Chairman of the Laurens County GOP.
It was Evette's shared commitment to fighting for families and conservative values in Columbia that led to Rankin's endorsement, according to a statement from the Evette campaign.
"From the moment she entered the poltical arena, Lt. Governor Evette has been a leading conservative voice for protecting life, strengthening our families, expanding school choice, and defending the values that make our state and country special," Rankin said. "More than that, she's a devoted wife, mother, woman of faith, and the kind of leader my little girl and the children across our state can look up to and aspire to be."
Evette welcomed the endorsement, saying, "Young conservatives are rising across our state and nation, thanks to leading voices like Represntative Luke Rankin. He's been a fighter for getting radical left professors off college campuses, protecting the unborn and mothers, and ensuring every child has access to an excellent education. I'm thrilled to have him and his young family on the team."
Rankin's endorsement adds to a growing list of support from elected officials and conservative leaders from across the state who believe in Evette's business-minded, Trump-aligned conservative vision for the state, according to the announcement.
