CLINTON, S.C. — Downtown Clinton came alive Thursday evening as locals and visitors gathered at The Depot for Main Street Clinton’s 3rd Thursday Concert Series. With food, shopping, and dancing in the streets, the event was a vibrant kickoff to summer fun in the heart of the city.

Festivities began at 5 p.m. as vendors lined the streets offering everything from icy sweet treats and savory bites from Mrs. V’s Southern Kitchen to refreshing sips from Beat the Heat Lemonade. The Gamer Garage also drew in crowds, adding a family-friendly edge to the night’s activities.

But it was the music that truly stole the show. From 7 to 9 p.m., the crowd swayed, grooved, and even line danced as G Clef & The Playlist, a high-energy, four-piece band from Atlanta, took the stage. Led by dynamic frontman Glen “G Clef” Perdew, the group brought their signature blend of pop, rock, R&B, Motown, and hip-hop to life. With Steve Humphrey on guitar, John Hancotte on bass, and Rob Williams on drums, the band delivered a powerhouse performance full of tight harmonies and irresistible energy.

Attendees didn’t just listen—they danced. The Depot’s front lawn became a makeshift dance floor as people of all ages joined in for spontaneous line dances and group moves, adding to the festival feel of the evening.

“The band was fantastic,” said Jim Spry, Director of Main Street Clinton and coordinator of the event. “Having shade from the tent and watching the line dancing on the grass made for a special celebration. We just want to take the momentum and keep building as we go through the summer and fall.”

The 3rd Thursday Concert Series continues to grow as a signature event for Clinton, offering an irresistible mix of music, community, and summertime charm. The next concert in the series is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, promising another night of food, fun, and great music in Downtown Clinton.
