Clinton's 9 a.m. Christmas Parade on Saturday came off with lots of cowboy hats, cowboy themes, and another visit from Santa to continue the holiday spirit from Thursday evening's Tree-lighting.
Grand Marshal was weatherman and musician/drummer Jack Roper. Floats and a band and cheerleaders and dancers, lots of vehicles of all kinds and - in keeping with the theme - two cowgirls on horses were seen by the parade participants.
Volunteers from First Baptist Church had a special treat for motorists coming up behind the parade and, perhaps, delayed for a little while on their journey -- Free Hot Chocolate!!
Officers were stationed at the end of the parade to direct those who wanted to participate toward Whitten Center for a parade there for the clients and staff to enjoy.
Laurens continued the spirit with its 4 p.m. parade.
The City of Clinton will announce later winners of the parade awards.
