Clinton Unity Day

Posted

The City of Clinton Unity Reform Day was held June 27th in an East Main St. parking lot in uptown Clinton. Coming in the wake of internationally known death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and other deaths of African-American men and women in the U.S. and abroad, the Unity Day was to focus on Black on Black Crime within the Community, Black Live Matter (all live matter when black lives matter), guest speakers, voter registration, and vendors. A short march was conducted along East Main St. prior to the 5-hour rally and activities. People are wearing masks because of the COVID-19 threat. Organizers were Aretha Yvette Payne and April Kingsborough. - Photos by Vic MacDonald
