Clinton Man Behind Bars For Ill Treatment Of Animals In General, Torture And Contempt Of Family Court

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a Clinton Man for two counts of Ill treatment of animals in general, torture and contempt of family court.

34-year-old, Jacob Robert Philips, of Highway 56 North, was arrested June 9th for the alleged charges. According to his arrest warrant report, Philips allegedly allowed a female dogs in his care become emaciated with ribs, hips, and spine showing and did allow the dog to suffer from a skin condition where the dog lost most of it’s hair and the skin on on most of its body was red and inflamed with multiple scabs and sores for a prolonged period of time. Another Dog of Philips was hit by a motor vehicle in the roadway after he failed to contain the dog on his property. He allegedly allowed the dog to lay in the grass in his back yard unable to move, with no protection from the elements and without water. He also failed to seek medical treatment for the suffering dog. Jacob Philips remain behind bars this morning at the Detention Center.
