COLUMBIA — With less than one week remaining until the November 3 general election, Republican Attorney General nominee David Stumbo enters the final stretch with the endorsement of 31 South Carolina sheriffs, demonstrating broad support from the law enforcement leaders responsible for protecting communities across the state.
From the Upstate to the Lowcountry, these sheriffs stand behind Stumbo’s more than two decades of prosecutorial experience and his commitment to standing with law enforcement, fighting for victims, and holding violent criminals accountable.
“The men and women who wear the badge deserve an Attorney General who will stand shoulder to shoulder with them,” said Stumbo. “I’ve spent my career working alongside law enforcement to put violent criminals behind bars and fight for victims and their families.
I’m honored to have the support of these 31 sheriffs. As Attorney General, I’ll make sure they have a partner who is ready to get to work on day one.”
As Eighth Judicial Circuit Solicitor, Stumbo has prosecuted violent criminals, drug traffickers, and repeat offenders while building strong working relationships with the officers and deputies who investigate those crimes. His campaign for Attorney General is focused on bringing that frontline experience to the state’s top law enforcement office.
The 31 sheriffs endorsing Stumbo are:
Abbeville County: Sheriff Ray Watson
McCormick County: Sheriff Chad Cox
Together, these endorsements send a clear message heading into November 3: law enforcement leaders across South Carolina trust David Stumbo to serve as their next Attorney General.
“Keeping South Carolina safe takes more than campaign promises. It takes experience, strong partnerships, and the resolve to see tough cases through,” Stumbo said. “That’s what I’ve brought to the courtroom throughout my career, and that’s what I’ll bring to the Attorney General’s Office. I would be honored to earn your vote on November 3.”
