Clinton City Council will consider final annexation action on Cambridge Farms this Monday (Oct. 5), and the Clinton Planning Commission will start the annexation process for 102 acres on Hwy 308 at its meeting on Oct. 13.
This land under Planning Commision consideration is envisioned to be zoned High Density Residential.
Also on the Planning Commission's agenda is a proposal to annex 11.8 acres at 105 Mississippi Drive, and rezone an unaddressed 11 acres from its current commercial zoning. Both of these properties would become High-Density Residential, according to the agenda.
The Clinton City Council meeting is at 6 p.m. Monday in the PS Bailey City Counciil Chambers of the MS Bailey Municipal Center at 211 North Broad St., Clinton. In the same location, the City of Clinton Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. next Tuesday. Both meetings will be viewable, live-streaming and saved, on the City's YouTube channel.
Both meetings are open for the public to attend in person.
The Planning Commission also will consider bonded final approval for the Shell Creek subdivision (behind the former Renfro plant, Springdale Dr. at Hwy 76, across from Whitten Center).
The City Council has a more extensive agenda, including a closed session discussion of 3 matters: Contract regarding Ark Management One and the City; Memorandum of Understanding within Laurens County and Laurens City; and a personnel matter with the Administration Department.

Council will consider 4 resolutions: First Friday in November as Arbor Day; October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month; Oct. 4 - 10 as Public Power Week; and congratulating Tapestry for 40 years service in the City of Clinton.
In addition to Cambridge Farms (intersection of Hwy 56 and Cambridge Road, between Ingles and Westminster Presbyterian Church), 2nd and Final Reading is proposed for: suspending the Blue Laws; updating the Comprehensive Plan; changing the zoning from Residential to Commercial of 11 acres at the intersection of Willard Road and Springdale Drive (across Willard Road from Rosemont Cemetery, proposed for an RV Sales business).
Council will consider First Reading of the acceptance by DuBrook Properities LLC of regulating traffic on the private road, Commerce Drive; changing City elections from March to November and related matters; amending the General Commercial zoning (as it relates to the multi-family-allowed provision); and changing the zoning of 1.34 acres at 500 East Carolina Ave.
