The Tams bring their electric beach and boogie sounds to Town Rhythms May 26 and draw a huge crowd to uptown Clinton. A TR favorite for many summers, The Tams draw a traveling crowd that takes every opportunity see the legendary group - which cut its first demo in 1962 - perform under founders Charles and Joe Pope and now with Little Redd Arthur Cottle as a featured performer - the group will have two special performances this summer and early 2017 to celebrate Little Redd's 40th year on the stage. The Tams' musical revue the 40K Gold Band handles the first hours, then backs up the 5-man singing and dancing dynamo for 90 minutes of non-stop music. "Love Train" got the gonga line moving, and everybody had a summertime chill with "Margaritaville," in addition to The Tams' hits. The Georgia Music Hall of Famers earned two gold records and a long list of R&B Top 40s.
