UNION — The Clinton Red Devils wasted little time getting back on track Friday night, rolling to a dominant 60-0 road win over Union County. The victory came one week after a disappointing home loss to Daniel and pushed Clinton back to .500 at 3-3.

Clinton piled up 274 yards of total offense on just 32 plays, including 219 on the ground and 55 through the air. The Red Devils reached the red zone six times and capitalized on every opportunity, scoring touchdowns on all six trips.

Running backs Javen Cook and K.J. Vance each found the end zone twice in the first half. Cook scored on runs of 11 and 1 yard, while Vance broke loose for touchdowns from 5 and 17 yards. Quarterback Owen Glenn also connected with P.J. McGowan for a 48-yard strike, and the Clinton defense joined the scoring parade when Kynius Williams scooped up a fumble and returned it 10 yards for a touchdown. By halftime, Clinton had built a commanding 40-0 lead.

The Red Devils added three more rushing scores in the second half, with Angelo Cromer, Jaydon Glenn, and Zy Butler all crossing the goal line. Cromer highlighted the night with a 51-yard dash en route to 61 yards on just two carries. Cook finished with 42 yards on six attempts, while Glenn was 2-of-5 passing for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Union County (1-5) actually controlled possession, holding the ball for more than 34 minutes and running 58 plays. But the Yellowjackets could manage only 154 total yards—122 on the ground and 32 through the air—averaging just 2.6 yards per snap.

“Our guys locked in at practice, and we just focused on getting better on ourselves,” Clinton head coach Corey Fountain said. “Now some guys are stepping up.”

Clinton opens Region 1-2A play next Friday at Wilder Stadium against Liberty (4-2).
