The Weekend of Oct. 22 - 23, 2021 in Clinton could go down in history as the most Transformative in the city's history. Along with the Inauguration of Dr. Matt vandenBerg as the 19th President of Presbyterian College, there were the announcements of $10 Million in new giving to the college, plans to turn the former bookstore in Uptown Clinton into an off-campus students' center, and plans to convert The Capitol Theater in Downtown Laurens into an eSports center and movies/arts/eating destination. The City of Clinton staged the annual Rhythm on the Rails festival, with a BBQ competition and the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show. It also was PC Homecoming with Blue Hose Football under new coach Kevin Kelley taking on San Diego, introduction of the Homecoming Court, and introduction of the Blue Hose Baseball Team - the reigning Big South Conference Champions. It also was announced that the baseball stadium will be named for the championship-winning coach, Elton Pollock. - Photos by Vic MacDonald
