The June 2 Commencement exercises at Clinton High School gave a capacity crowd in the gym reason for a massive Red Devil cheer as the final graduates came off the stage. More than hour before the ceremony, CHS seniors, faculty and staff were getting everything ready behind the scenes. During the ceremony, Harrison Fisher was named as the Valedictorian and Joy McMann was named the Salutatorian. Fisher gave the Commencement Address. Scholarships and awards were presented, and some of these are still coming in. Principal Maureen Tiller - who handed a diploma to her son, Bowen - said the Class of 2016 earned $2.5M in scholarships. Eighteen graduates received the Highest Honor gold stole for GPA of 4.5 or better, 13 Red Devils have signed on to play sports as they advance their college careers, and 4 JROTC students have received National Scholarship - the most of any high school in South Carolina.
