Just some of Clinton High School's end-of-the-year festivities - seniors walk, sports signings and baseball fans

Posted

Clinton High School was a beehive of activities on campus and around District 56 as the 2023 Academic Year concluded with June 1 Commencement. These are just 3 of the activities (which also include academic awards, a fireworks display, senior parade and breakfast, graduation rehearsal, seniors’ signing day for colleges and signing for Teacher Cadets, and hosting the district’s teachers’ retirement dinner).

The State Champion Red Devil Baseball Team walked the driveways at Clinton Elementary (pictured) and Eastside Elementary to receive the students’ and teachers’ congratulations, some running into their former teachers in the process.

Signing National Letters of Intent to attend colleges and participate in athletics are:

Jay Martin, Football, Erskine College

CJ Young, Football, Anderson University

Wil Stewart, Basketball, Lander University

Tylon Scurry, Basketball, Newberry College

Taliek Fuller, Basketball, Newberry College

Connor Donley, Tennis, Lenior-Rhyne College

Eli Brewer, Tennis, Newberry College

Caleb Taylor, Baseball, Barry University in Miami

Brandon Fitz, Soccer, Coker College

Colby Suber, Soccer, USC-Union

George Cody, Wrestling, Presbyterian College

The signings were addition to several already held during the winter and spring for Red Devil Athletics.

And, following the Senior Breakfast, the Clinton High Seniors walked the halls of their former elementary schools - pictured are the festivities at Eastside Elementary School.

District 56 takes a quick breath, conducts summer school, accomplishes maintenance and repairs, and prepares for students to be back in their classes on August 1st — while the Graduates move to their next chapters of life.
