Laurens, SC–Laurens County First Steps, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing early childhood education and support to families in Laurens County, is thrilled to announce its participation in the NASCAR Day Giveathon 2023.

Laurens County First Steps has been chosen as a beneficiary of the NASCAR Day Giveathon, and we are excited to use this opportunity to raise funds and awareness of the importance of Early Childhood Education and Development.  The NASCAR Day Giveathon will take place for 75 hours, beginning at 5pm on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 through 8pm on Friday, May 19th, 2023.  This is a nationwide event that brings together fans, drivers, and teams to raise money for charitable organizations across the country.

Laurens County First Steps has been serving the community for over 20 years, providing essential services to families and children in need. Our programs include parent education and support, child development screenings, child care training and professional development, access to high-quality early childhood education through scholarships, and a pediatric well-child visit reading program. With these evidence-based programs, we are working to achieve our vision of every Laurens County child entering school healthy and ready to succeed.

By participating in the NASCAR Day Giveathon, we hope to raise funds that will allow us to continue and expand our programs. With your support, we can make a real difference in the lives of families and children in our community.

To donate to Laurens County First Steps through the NASCAR Day Giveathon, please visit https://laurensfirststeps.org/ and click on the event.  Every donation counts, no matter how big or small, and will go directly to supporting our programs and services. Specific funds from this Giveathon will expand the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and install two StoryWalk® Projects.  A StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Pages from a children's book are installed in permanent display cases which are placed along an outdoor path. “The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.”
