Laurens County Habitat for Humanity dedicated its 25th house on April 8 and gifted it to the Erica Elmore family. Located at 274 South Harper St., the house will be joined by a second Habitat hose for this area of Laurens, once the home-building organization finishes and dedicates a residence on Shands Street in Clinton. Laurens Mayor John Stankus said, "On behalf of the council and our employees, we are very pleased to have this Habitat house in our community. Ms. Elmore, we welcome you as a resident of Laurens, and we know you will be a vital contributor to our city. We all have a stake in that house. All the kids at LDHS (where construction began), you put your hands in it. To the Habitat board and volunteers, you do an awesome job in the community. Thank you for you diligent efforts to provide affordable housing."
