A new streak starts. The Clinton High School Science Olympiad Team celebrates its State Championship March 25 at Newberry College. The Red Devil scientists won for the second consecutive year over the Academic Magnet School of Charleston, and took its eighth state title in nine years in the competition open to all 9th through 12th grade students in South Carolina. Of the 20 events contested on Saturday, Clinton finished in the Top 6 in 18 events. Red Devils scientists placed 1st in these events: Remote Sensing, Write It Do It, Helicopters (pictured, the second flight got stuck on a rafter), Forensics, Rocks and Minerals, Experimental Design, Robotic Arm (pictured), Astronomy, Electric Vehicle (pictured), Dynamic Planet, and Towers. 

Both the Clinton A Team and the Clinton B Team earned placements in:

--Remote Sensing, Clinton B fourth, Clinton A first;

--Pentathlon, Clinton B fourth, Clinton A second;

--Astronomy, Clinton B fifth, Clinton A first;

--Electric Vehicle, Clinton B fourth, Clinton A first.
