Blue Saturday - The Hose Graduate

Posted

The first class to walk through a renovated and expanded Neville Hall, the Class of 2017 braved cloudy skies and cool weather May 13 to receive their diplomas on Presbyterian College's West Plaza. Just 12 hours before the 10 am Commencement start, a fierce thunderstorm rolled through Clinton. Event organizers and workers, and college staff put the venue together after that to ensure a PC tradition - an outdoor graduation. The college awarded 200 diplomas in the undergraduate program, and another 70 on May 12 in graduation and hooding for the Class of 2017 Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy. Speaking to his classmates at the Outstanding Senior, Christopher Harvel Parnell said, “The true reality of time is that we always believe we have more than we do,” he said. “Our time will be measured by how we serve our family, our community, and our society. Class of 2017, we are standing at the precipice of uncertainty in a world of uncertainty, and it is now that I implore you to make good use of your time.” - Photos by Vic MacDonald
