All Aboard!

Posted

Conductor Dale Satterfield calls everyone, "All Aboard!" on May 21 for the 2nd Annual Rhythm on the Rails festival in uptown Clinton. This year's ROTR added a barbecue competition, with Blind Swine of Greenwood, as the Grand Champion. Organizers say they will work in the coming year to have the competition recognized by a sanctioning organization. Many area groups, singers and bands performed, and Training the Child Ministries presented the wrapping of The May Pole - an activity many of their grandparents recognized from their youth. Carnival rides went on rain or shine Friday and Saturday, and activities included food, inflatables, vendors, community information, petting zoo, model train displays, the Kids Bop Hour, and gospel singing and prayer for the Clinton community. Rhythm on the Rails is a tribute to Clinton's long history as the rail hub of Upstate South Carolina.
