Clinton Department of Public Safety officers are joined by personnel from the Joanna Fire Dept., Laurens County Emergency Medical Service and Clinton Department of Public Works at a fire scene June 13. A house on Poplar Street in the Lydia Mill community catches fire in the rear, and firefighters work to save the structure. A huge smoke billow pours from the residence for a while, and after a time the smoke dissipates. One person receives attention from EMTs but there do not appear to be life-threatening injuries. The area's electrical grid is checked and, later, investigators examine the residence for the fire cause. The fire is confined to one house.
