The 12th annual Flight of the Dove attracted more than 300 bicyclists and raised $30,000 for Hospice of Laurens County Aug. 19 at Bailey Memorial Stadium, Presbyterian College. SC Gov. Henry McMaster sent a letter of appreciation to the cyclists and appreciation to Hospice of Laurens County for more than 30 years service to people in this region. Bicyclists had the chose of a 14 mile family run, 30-, 40- and Metric Century runs over rural roads of Laurens and Newberry Counties. For the first time in several years (the man who used to do it passed away), there was a doves release, by a company in Inman, to commemorate the start of Flight of the Dove. - Photos by Vic MacDonald
