Over 2 million children across 20 reporting states are suffering.

Posted

The SC State conference of the NAACP and Appleseed are working together to keep families covered with Medicaid.

Medicaid is one of the major  pathways that insures that all people have access to high quality affordable health care coverage.

These are the facts:

1. As of October of 2023 more than 10 million have lost Medicaid coverage.

2. 71% of all people disenrolled had their coverage terminated for red tape or procedural reasons.

3. 54% of those terminated are from communities of color.

4. Over 2 million children across 20 reporting states are suffering.

On May 25th, 2024 the SC State Conference and Appleseed will hold a forum to deal with this health crisis at the New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church located at 24277 Hwy. 76 East in Clinton.

This meeting  will run from 9 AM to 2 PM. People who are willing to state while Medicaid has benefitted them will receive a stipend. People will receive assistance to fill out Medicaid applications. There will be door prizes and food will be served. The public is invited to attend.
