Goodwill Unveils SecondStory in Upstate: A Specialty Thrift Bookstore Offering Literary Treasures for All Ages

(Greenville, SC) Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina (GIUMSC), a renowned leader in thrift retail and workforce development, is excited to announce the launch of its latest venture, SecondStory, a specialty thrift bookstore, set to open its doors on June 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. SecondStory will cater to book lovers and avid readers, offering a curated collection of pre-loved novels, rare finds, and literary treasures. 

Located at 115 Haywood Road in Greenville, SecondStory will provide a unique and inviting space next to the GIUMSC Clearance Center, where customers can browse through an eclectic assortment of books spanning various genres and interests. From classic literature to contemporary fiction, SecondStory aims to offer something for every reader, whether they are seeking a beloved childhood favorite or hunting a rare gem to add to their collection. Prices for books will begin at $1.

SecondStory represents GIUMSC’s commitment to promoting literacy and the joy of reading while supporting its mission of providing job training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs. Every purchase at SecondStory will help fund the critical programs, making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families in the Upstate and Midlands of South Carolina. 

The bookstore will feature: 

  • Pre-Loved Novels: A vast selection of gently used books across various genres, from bestsellers to classics.
  • Rare Finds: A curated collection of rare, signed, first editions, and antique books for collectors and enthusiasts.
  • Children’s Section: Hundreds of children’s literature titles to choose from that make those family moments come alive with the beauty of storytelling.

Goodwill invites everyone to join the festivities on June 13 at 10AM to explore the wonderful world of books at SecondStory! Normal hours of operation will be 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. daily.
