Clinton City Council will consider demolition of the Girl Scout Hut, on Hickory Street.

The item is part of the agenda for the Monday evening council meeting, at 6 p.m. in the PS Bailey Council Chambers of the MS Bailey Municipal Center, 211 N. Broad St. The meeting is open to the public, and is live-streamed on the city's Facebook page.

There is a time at the beginning of the meeting for anyone to give comments on any AGENDA ITEM to the council; register before the meeting starts to be called on. The Girl Scout Hut discussion is Agenda Item 8. The city's website, under "Government," might include an Agenda Packet which could include a supporting document.

Council will recognize for 5 years of service: Joseph Millwood and Kenny Robertson. Council will recognize newly promoted sergeants Corey Barnes and Dena Messer. The City Manager could be authorized to enter into a contract with Satterfield Construction for paving of streets, and council will consider a contract with the Laurens County Magistrate's Office to conduct bond court. Also, 3 annexation / zoning items are on the agenda.

Council will conduct a closed session with the specific purpose "to discuss legal action regarding PFAs (also known as "forever chemicals") with possible action."

Reports and Recommendations round out the agenda. The Clinton City Council's regular monthly meetings are the first Monday (except holidays) and work session-style meetings are on tap for once a quarter.
