The national political race comes to the local congressional race

Stewart Jones calls out Sherri Biggs, both are running for the office being vacated by Jeff Duncan

Posted

Laurens County State Representative and Congressional candidate Stewart Jones has been very active in the Trump candidacy leading up to this Saturday's Republican Presidential Preference Primary, even earning a personal shout-out from the candidate at his North Charleston rally.

On Thursday, Jones called out a fellow GOP candidate for her absence at Trump rallies;

On Thursday, the Jones campaign issued a statement:

Where is Sheri Biggs?

Statement from Stewart Jones:

“President Donald Trump has traveled across South Carolina in recent weeks, working hard to earn the votes of South Carolinians. I've been honored to stand beside him. In fact, at his rally in Charleston he thanked me for standing by his side.

That is the thing about me, you always know where I stand.

Yesterday, Donald Trump and Nikki Haley both had events in the Upstate. Like many conservatives, I joined President Trump at his Fox News town hall with Laura Ingraham.

Where was my opponent, Sheri Biggs? Did she attend the Nikki Haley 'I'm not quitting' speech or her event at Clemson? I have yet to see Sheri at a single event in South Carolina to support President Donald Trump!

The Biggs family has a long history of supporting Nikki Haley. They have donated thousands of dollars to her campaigns.

The voters of the Third Congressional District need to know if Sheri Biggs supports Nikki Haley or Donald Trump? It's a simple question that matters greatly.

Does Sheri Biggs support higher taxes, unlimited handouts for Ukraine, and selling out America to China, or does she believe in America First?"

President Trump Receives Endorsements from 15 Current and Former South Carolina Sheriffs; Trump Campaign Reaches 182 total endorsements in South Carolina

North Charleston – President Donald J. Trump announced that 15 current and former South Carolina sheriffs are endorsing his campaign for the presidency, including Laurens County Sheriff Don Reynolds. In total, President Trump has received 182 endorsements from South Carolina’s staunchest conservative leaders, along with more than 250 Grassroots Leaders who announced their support last June.

“After three years and millions of illegal aliens and countless deadly drugs smuggled into the United States, South Carolinians need a strong and steady Commander in Chief,” said Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright. “As the only Law and Order candidate running for president, President Trump has the unique experience and bold leadership to protect our families and communities. He secured our border once before, and he will do it once again.”

“We saw brazen lawlessness erupt right here in Charleston in 2020, and security at home requires fearless leaders like President Trump, not weak-kneed politicians like Nikki Haley who kowtows to her globalist Democrat donors,” said former Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon. “President Trump is headed for a historic win in South Carolina, and it’s time for Nikki Haley to step aside and unite behind the only candidate who will defeat Joe Biden and restore our nation in November.”

SCDP Statement on Trump’s Refusal To Condemn Putin

Columbia -- South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain responds to Trump’s refusal to condemn Putin last night (Feb. 20) in Greenville.

“South Carolina servicemembers and veterans deserve to have a leader who will advance American interests first, not carry water for Putin. It’s beyond the pale that Trump still heaps praise on Putin and other dictators like Kim Jong Un. Trump’s love for dangerous autocrats is even more glaring in contrast with President Biden, who is leading on the world stage, has rebuilt our alliances, and is fighting to protect democracy here and abroad.”

SCDP Condemns GOP Mismanagement of Taxpayer Funds

Columbia -- South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain calls for new leadership after the GOP Majority continues to mismanage taxpayer funding.

“For decades, the Republican majority at the Statehouse have claimed to protect taxpayers and promote fiscal responsibility. Yet the so-called “leadership” of Curtis Loftis and Legislative Republicans have failed to provide oversight. This $1.8 billion in unallocated funds is money that should be funding important programs, providing long overdue raises, or putting money back into the pockets of South Carolinians. It’s time for qualified leadership that prioritizes hard working taxpayers.”
