PC Football Offers Glimpse into Upcoming Season with Fan Day Festivities

A rousing success the previous year and an even larger turnout of Blue Hose fans in the premises this time out, the Presbyterian College football program and head coach Steve Englehart braved the August heat on Saturday afternoon at Bailey Memorial Stadium to conduct the now-annual preseason Fan Day.

At the end of the day's to-do list (an event that included meet-and-greets with Blue Hose players and staff, as well as autograph sessions), Englehart's squad took to the field where a publicized scrimmage was held.

Presbyterian will officially hit the ground running on the 2023 campaign in exactly seven days' time with a road trip to Murray State in Kentucky.

"Today was a very productive dress rehearsal, in a sense" commented Englehart post-practice, about to embark on year two as PC's director. "After close to 20 practices where our guys are competing against each other, this was a great opportunity for everyone to be on the same team and show off what this group is going to look like over the next few months".

"Football is like no other sport because there's so much involvement from a big staff all summer long, but that's what makes our 11 Saturdays of games such a beautiful thing".

A number of convivial activities were held at Bailey Memorial's main concourse, including the aforementioned autograph congregation. All fans were invited to pick up the official 2023 schedule poster, and purchase various PC-related merchandise.

Face-painting and balloon animal activities were on hand for all children at the ceremony, while sign-ups for the Zaxby's Scotty's Kids Club were available as well. A bouncy house outside the stadium was also present.

Season-tickets for the upcoming year – as well as single-game seats to any of Presbyterian's home dates – were on sale Saturday for those in attendance.

Team #111 fielded by Presbyterian College will begin the fall calendar next Saturday (Sept. 2) for a first-time encounter versus Murray State. Kickoff at Roy Stewart Stadium is slated for 6:00 PM on ESPN+.

The following week, the Blue Hose will break in the 21st season at Bailey Memorial by taking on Virginia University of Lynchburg. PC's next home date – after two road appearances and a BYE – will occur on October 7 against Stetson, the second of eight Pioneer Football League matchups on the docket.
