If anyone missed the Mingle & Jingle uptown event Thursday night (Dec 14th) then you really missed something. Several uptown merchants/ business owners joined forces to offer citizens a local shopping experience that combined appreciating your neighbor’s talents with growing your city.
The Art Group of Clinton (TAG) was invited to Mingle & Jingle with everyone. One member of TAG is from out-of-town and made the forty-minute drive to sell her amazing paintings in the Pop-Up Shop.
After meeting Clintonians and having a business owner discuss a possible commission for her art, I took her to Aspen & Figs Gift Shop to meet more people, including the owner of The Makery. We stopped at the T.A.G. art display in the Musgrove window, admiring the beauty created by local artists.
As we wrapped up the evening, she turned to me and said, “Wow, I’ve got to come hang out in Clinton more often!”
For a split-second, I was taken aback by words I had not heard before.
But I quickly smiled and replied, “I think that’s a great idea…”
Score one for Clinton, even if on a totally different playing field. I hope you’ll join the team.
