Per Coroner Patti Canupp,
On June 28, 2026, shortly after 8:30 PM, Coroner Patti Canupp, Chief Deputy Coroner Ashley Rushton, and Deputy Coroner Randy Riddle were notified of a death that occurred at Highland Park Apartments on Musgrove Street in Clinton, South Carolina, as the result of an officer-involved shooting.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Brodie Reese of Clinton, South Carolina.
A forensic autopsy was conducted. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound.
This incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Laurens County Coroner's Office. No additional details are available at this time.
