Congress should pass a bill -- H.R. 89 - immediately. It allows terrorists to be deported.
The United States Department of Justice has a verified list of 300 people who are terrorists. They attacked the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. And so, they should fall under the provisions of this ought-to-be federal law:
H.R. 89 the Terrorist Deportation Act – Allows for the deportation of individuals in the Terrorist Screening Database.
When this bill is made into a law, the shooters of innocent people in Boulder, Colorado, and Atlanta, Georgia, also can be deported. They have shown by their conduct that they do not care to live in a civilized United States of America.
The shooters used guns. The rioters used Bear Mace, flag poles, horned hats, fire extinguishers and other heavy objects, and automatic closing doors to inflict terror on the U.S. Capitol Police. I am not sure to where they should be deported, but Gitmo sounds like a good start.
All these criminal cases will be making their way through the United States Justice System, some day. The Capitol Riot is still under investigation, but it has been the subject of a Congressional hearing - just like the blowing up of the Federal Courthouse in Oklahoma City was, just like the attack on the Boston Marathon was. All these are terrorist acts.
The goal of any terrorist is to inflict terror on a society. The D.C. riot did just that. The Atlanta shooting did just that but, funny thing, it also mobilized people to insist that these attacks on Asian-Americans stop. Too early to tell yet about a motive in the Boulder case. It was probably some kind of addiction.
The deportations probably need to happen pretty quickly. The Capitol Rioters went home pretty quick, so they proved that they can use airplanes to be mobile. Some of them might have crossed the border by now. Some members of Congress already have rewritten the narrative, with comments like “I wasn’t scared” and “I was ready to fight (but didn’t have to)” and “Yes, but what about ...”
Pretty soon it will become illegal to mention January 6, 2021 in U.S. history textbooks. Or it will be just a footnote: The U.S. Capitol was attacked just after the War of 1812 and then again after the Pandemic of 2020. There were also a couple of women terrorists who set off a bomb there; not sure if they were deported (it wasn’t a law then, but it probably should have been).
So, all you people out there who have bought into the fantasy that someone somewhere wants you to punch a 75-year-old Korean woman in the face on a city street in broad daylight, just know two things:
you better be able to throw hands; and
there’s a new law coming that will send you back where you came from, or to somewhere worse. Run them through the courts, put them on a big Boeing, and adios!
They rest of us will be living our lives, much more peacefully.
