On Friday, October 25, The Clinton Chronicle transformed into “The Cursed Chronicle” for a spooktacular afternoon of family-friendly Halloween fun. From 3 to 7 p.m., the parking lot was filled with laughter, games, and candy as the community gathered for the Halloween Market and Trunk or Treat celebration.
Local vendors lined the area, offering treats, crafts, and community spirit. Founders Federal Credit Union, Laurens County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Sweet Icy Delights (Annette Lee), Mystic Moon (Roxanne Patterson), and Z World Gift Shop (Rez Brown) all joined in on the festivities, adding a lively market atmosphere to the event.
The parking lot became a parade of creativity, with costumes ranging from witches and ghosts to princesses and pirates. Even a few adults joined in on the fun, proving that Halloween spirit has no age limit in Clinton.
Children and families enjoyed a variety of Halloween-themed games, including Haunted Roll (Skeeball), Monster Match (Connect 4), Eyeball Toss (Ball Toss), Poke-A-Pumpkin (Punch Out), Tic-Tac Toes (Tic-Tac-Toe), Terrifying Tower (Jenga), and Witch Hat Toss (Ring Toss). Bubbles floated through the lot as children played, with plenty of free candy and even “teether treats” so the smallest trick-or-treaters could join in on the fun too.
A crowd favorite was taking photos with Clinton’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, who made a special appearance to greet young fans. Children also had the chance to climb into the back of a decorated ambulance, courtesy of Laurens County EMS, for another fun photo opportunity.
The Cursed Chronicle event brought smiles, laughter, and community spirit to downtown Clinton, proving that even a haunted newspaper office can be full of good fun and great memories. Hosted by The Clinton Chronicle, the event served as a way to give back to the community and provide a safe, festive space for families to celebrate Halloween together.
