The LDHS Cross Country Team plays host to the Laurens Un;ted 5K - "Your Story Isn't Over" - event on Aug. 24 at Lake Rabon Park, Laurens. Proceeds benefit the Laurens District High School - Laurens United and Raiders United Mental Health Scholarship. Awarded last year, the scholarship goes to a senior attending college and majoring in a field related to mental health. Raiders Un;ted - expanded into Laurens Un;ted - was formed by Rob Sheffield (Robotz Garage FIRST 4451) and Brooke Yarbrough (LDHS Student Council) because both groups had been touched by the deaths by suicide of students. This was the 5K's first year, under the direction of Thomas Moore, cross-country coach. The semi-colon means your life may be at a pause - but not at the end. - Photos by Vic MacDonald
