Neighbors are helping neighbors this week to deal with the immense tragedy of Hurricane Helene in Clinton.
District 56 handed out goods at Clinton High School and Joanna Woodson Elementary on Monday and the City of Clinton set up food give aways at Martha Dendy park, Shirley Jenkins Park, and Lydia Mill Park (2 pm until gone). The Comfort Food Queen Autasha Smith handed out food at 200 West Carolina Avenue.
- Clinton is under a 10 pm to 6 am curfew.
- District 56 schools are closed until Oct 14.
- District 55 schools have cancelled all athletics and practices through Saturday, Oct. 5. Homecoming will be rescheduled.
- Presbyterian College is closed through Fall Break (see gobluehose.com for the football teams near comeback at Davidson, NC)
- MREs, Water and Tarps will be distributed on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 10am - 7pm at Hillcrest Square
- The Ridge, 301 Exchange Drive, Laurens is a shelter beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 2
- Also on Wednesday Oct. 2, First Baptist Church Laurens Family Life Center will be open from Noon until 6pm for meals, showers and the use of charging stations. Bring your own shampoo, soap and a charging cord.
- Piedmont Tech remains closed through Friday, Oct. 4.
