CLINTON, S.C. — On Saturday, May 3, families from Clinton and beyond gathered at LushAcres at Thornwell for a day of fun, food, and fellowship during the annual Spring Festival. But this event was about more than hayrides and handmade crafts — it was a reflection of what makes Clinton special: a community that works together to create something greater than the sum of its parts.
For a $12 admission, guests experienced a full lineup of activities that brought smiles to children and adults alike. From hayrides and a kids’ train ride to the BIG AIR of Laurens mobile unit and bounce pad, the day was filled with laughter and movement. The petting zoo and corn cannon drew big crowds, while live music added a festive backdrop to the farm’s natural charm.
Additional activities, such as gem mining and strawberry picking, were offered for a small fee. Dozens of vendors from across the Upstate brought their goods to Clinton, transforming the festival into a pop-up market of local talent. Artisans like Sweetpeaz Creationz, Simplicity At It’s Best, Smell My Scents, Madwig Metalworks, and many others showcased their craft — and showed how small businesses bring vibrancy and variety to the local economy.
No one went hungry, thanks to a selection of concessions that included hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, and the star of the show: fresh, homemade strawberry donuts. It was a simple but perfect menu that added to the laid-back, country atmosphere.
The Spring Festival at LushAcres at Thornwell is more than just a seasonal celebration. It’s a reminder that Clinton isn’t just a town — it’s a network of neighbors, small business owners, families, and organizations who invest in one another. Events like this one show how working together makes Clinton not only thrive, but shine.
