March 29 - The American Legion Copeland-Davidson Post 56 is partnering with Geraldine’s Soup Kitchen on Vietnam Veterans Day, National Holiday for a Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast on Saturday, March 29, from 7 to 10 a.m. All Vietnam Vets, Vietnam Era Vets, Veterans of all wars and all theaters, the residents and staff of Geraldine’s Kitchen-Open Door Christian Center, and the General Public are heartily invited. Donations will be accepted at the door, and while the food lasts, no one will go away hungry!
Vets are encouraged to wear old field jackets, P-coats, whole uniforms, legion uniforms or rider vests, or simply t-shirt, or any ball cap that proudly notes the wearer is a Vet. This is as far away as the white tablecloth crowd as we can be, said one Post 56 organizer, we are coming together to quietly remember those who never came home and to honor and celebrate those who went and survived.
Geraldine’s Soup Kitchen is located at 209 E. Main St., Clinton. For further information or clarification, call or Email Burt Harter, Post 56 Historian, 740-797-3262 or burt.harter@earthlink.net.
