Choir & Alumni will have a Carnegie Hall performance

Perform at Carnegie Hall

 

The concert will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2025, 1 p.m. at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City

 

New York, NY MidAmerica Productions is proud to present an afternoon of outstanding choral music on Sunday, June 1, 2025, 1 p.m. at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. This performance will feature the Presbyterian College Choir and Alumni, Clinton, SC (Kipper Ackerman, Director), and the renowned New England Symphonic Ensemble (Preston Hawes, Artistic Director). 

The choir will perform John Rutter’s Te Deum, conducted by Sonja Sepúlveda, and his Gloria, conducted by Kipper Ackerman (Director of Choral Activities at Presbyterian College).


“We are thrilled to showcase the exceptional talent of the Presbyterian College Choir and Alumni on one of the world’s most prestigious stages,” said James E. Redcay III, Chief Executive Officer of MidAmerica Productions. “The invitation extended to the ensemble is a testament to the outstanding musicianship and dedication of their singers. We are proud to welcome them to perform as part of our 42nd season at Carnegie Hall.”

The Presbyterian College Choir and Alumni will be joined by Arizona Lutheran Academy A Cappella Choir, Phoenix, AZ (Joshua Severeid, Director), Brookdale Concordia Chorale, Bedford, NJ (John Balme, Director), Palmetto Voices Spiritual Ensemble, Sumter, SC  (Sonja Sepulveda, Director), and Virtual Voices Chorale, East Meadow, NY (Stephen C. Pagano, Director).

All participating musicians will spend five days and four nights in New York City in preparation for their concert. They will also spend nine to ten hours in rehearsal as well as touring New York City. 

The concert program will also include:

  • Franz Schubert’s Mass No. 4 in C Major, conducted by Dennis Malfatti, and Magnificat by Antonio Vivaldi, conducted by Chantae D. Pittman, will feature the following participating choruses: Campbell High School Festival Chorus, Smyrna, GA (Chantae D. Pittman, Director); Evansville Day School Upper School Choir, Evansville, IN (Laura D’Alto, Director); Harrison High School Concert Choir, Evansville, IN  (Olivia Doyle, Director); and University of Evansville Choral Society and University Choir, Evansville, IN (Dennis Malfatti, Director)

  • Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, conducted by Craig Denison and Jeffrey L. Webb and featuring the participating choruses:Central Bucks East High School Chamber Choir, Doylestown, PA (Christopher Villante, Director), Indiana University of Pennsylvania Chorale, Indiana, PA (Craig Denison, Director), Indiana University of Pennsylvania Alumni Choir, Indiana, PA (Craig Denison, Director), Johnstown Symphony Chorus, Johnstown, PA (Jeffrey L. Webb, Director), Ranger Chorale of Northwest Mississippi Community College, Senatobia, MS (Alex Belohlavek, Director), Pitt-Johnstown Concert Choir, Johnstown, PA (Jeffrey L. Webb, Director)
