Clinton, SC – April 5, 2025 – ART Clinton 2025 got off to a spectacular start last Saturday as the city’s downtown Depot came alive with creativity, energy, and a sense of community spirit. The event, which marks the beginning of a month-long celebration of the arts, attracted a crowd eager to witness the talent and excitement unfold.

The day kicked off at 10:00 AM with the Youth Paint Out, where local young artists gathered to showcase their budding skills. The colorful display of their work set a perfect tone for the rest of the day’s events.

At 11:00 AM, the energy shifted to a more competitive atmosphere with the “C”elebrity Art Battle. Held around the iconic Clinton downtown monument, this lively and engaging contest featured prominent local personalities facing off in an intense “painting throw down.” The lineup of participants included:

  • Randy Randall, Mayor of Clinton
  • David O’Shields, District 56 Superintendent
  • Martha Brothers, Clinton High School Principal
  • Chris Patterson, Publisher of the Clinton Chronicle
  • Heather Tiller, Realtor at Berkshire Hathaway
  • Charlie Stinson, Director of Gateway Counseling
  • Jim Spry, Director of Main Street, Clinton
Each participant brought their unique personality to the easel, turning the battle into a playful yet fierce competition. The most memorable moments came from the friendly rivalry between Clinton Mayor Randy Randall and Superintendent David O’Shields, as the two exchanged playful jabs and spirited encouragement while creating their masterpieces.

Chasity Rowell, who enjoyed ART Clinton 2024 last year, reflected on the experience, saying, "I competed in last year's art battle and almost won. It was good fun." Her enthusiasm is just a glimpse into the excitement that filled the air as the community came together to celebrate the arts.

The lively atmosphere was further enhanced by the musical stylings and sound support provided by PittsMusic Studio of Clinton, who kept the crowd energized throughout the event.

The entire event was hosted by Jeannie Browning, the Director of ART Clinton 2025, who ensured the day ran smoothly while engaging the crowd in conversation about the importance of supporting local art and culture. As she looked ahead to the rest of the month, Browning expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "We are excited for what's to come over the next month." Her dedication to showcasing local talent and fostering community spirit was evident throughout the event

ART Clinton 2025 is a month-long celebration, and this event is just the beginning. All month long, you can see 40 local artists' work on display in 14 participating businesses all over Clinton. This Saturday, April 12, at 11:00 AM, ART Clinton 2025 will host two more art battles around Clinton’s downtown monument.
