Red Devils out of AAA basketball playoffs

Clinton High Red Devil basketball fans - shown here celebrating with the Samaritan's Feet benefit trophy - will have to wait another year for the Class AAA state playoffs, as their teams' opponent bombarded the nets for 150 points.

Chester ended the Red Devils season with a 76-57 win boys action, and a 74-27 win in girls action Tuesday night.

Playing on the road in the season finale, the Red Devils were in a position to claim the conference's final playoff spot. Chester squashed those hopes with a 27-12 1st quarter and added 24 more points in the 4th quarter. The CHS girls were not in playoff contention with just 2 wins this season, and Chester hit the Lady Red Devils with a 17-0 run to start the game. Clinton basketball loses 9 seniors to graduation.
