Clinton Cross Country takes part in meets in Clinton and Greenville
The Clinton High School girls and boys varsity and junior varsity cross country teams all participated in the Xaxby’s Invitational Saturday at Southside High School in Greenville.
William Scott was the top finishing varsity Red Devil with a time of 21:15.
He was followed by Billy Hogarth, Griffin Fuller, Nick Perkins, Jacob Hawkins, Tad Ray, Josh Bryant, Zac Bagwell, Wyatt McWatters and James Anderson.
Maren Vondergeest finished first among the CHS varsity runners with a time of 24:45.
She was followed by Adriana Webb, Chelsea Hill, Isabella Hucks, Isabella Bowling and Audrey Atkinson.
In the junior varsity race, Eryka Richard finished first among the Clinton High School girls with a time of 27:50, followed by Areli Pacheco-Elizondo, Susanna Frazier and Amy Smith.
Alex Tollison was the top finishers at Southside among the CHS junior varsity boys with a time of 22:41.
He was followed by Bradley Frazier, Tristan Fuller, Gray Walsh, Brandon Campbell, Hayden Miner, Carson Nance, Chris Caughman, Chase Holbert and Campbell Atkinson.
Maren Vondergeest of Clinton High School finished fourth in a 3-way meet Sept. 13 at CHS – the first home meet of the season.
Woodruff High School won the meet, followed by Broome and Clinton (Mid-Carolina had two runners participate).
Vondergeest finished the course with a time of 24:06.
Following her were Clinton High runners Chelsea Hill, Andriana Webb, Isabella Hucks, Kamryn Atkins, Isabella Bowling, Audrey Atkinson, Eryka Richard, Susanna Frazier, Amy Smith and Areli Pacheco-Elizondo.
In the boys competition, a 5-way meet, William Scott was the highest-finishing Clinton runner, finishing 10th overall with a time of 19:57.
Woodruff also won the boys meet, followed by Union, Broome, Laurens and Clinton.
Following Scott in the finishing order for Clinton were Billy Hogarth, Zac Bagwell, Nicholas Perkins, Tad Ray, Jacob Hawkins, David Wilkie, xx Fuller, Wyatt McWatters and James Anderson.
